This summary is provided for convenience. The complete warranty terms below apply.
1. Warranty Period
The warranty begins on the date the contracted work is substantially completed and continues for six months.
This warranty applies to the original customer and the property identified in the applicable estimate, work order, or contract. It is not transferable unless AB Concrete Finishing agrees otherwise in writing.
2. What This Warranty Covers
This warranty covers defects that:
- Appear during the six-month warranty period
- Are directly caused by AB Concrete Finishing's workmanship
- Affect an area of work completed by AB Concrete Finishing
Depending on the circumstances, covered workmanship issues may include defects resulting from improper installation, placement, or finishing performed by AB Concrete Finishing.
Coverage will be determined after the affected area has been inspected.
3. Available Warranty Remedy
When AB Concrete Finishing confirms that an issue is covered, its obligation will be limited to one or more of the following, at its discretion:
- Repairing the affected area
- Re-performing the affected workmanship
- Providing another reasonable corrective solution agreed to in writing
The appearance of repaired concrete may not perfectly match the surrounding concrete because of differences in age, curing, materials, weather exposure, colour, texture, and finish.
This warranty does not provide an automatic refund or replacement of the entire project when a localized repair is reasonable.
4. What This Warranty Does Not Cover
The warranty does not cover damage, deterioration, or appearance changes caused by circumstances outside AB Concrete Finishing's workmanship, including:
- Normal shrinkage, minor surface checking, or hairline cracking
- Normal variations in colour, shade, texture, aggregate exposure, or curing
- Efflorescence, weathering, staining, or ordinary wear
- Ground movement, frost heave, soil movement, settlement, erosion, or underground conditions
- Drainage conditions outside the agreed project scope
- Pre-existing site, soil, foundation, grading, or structural conditions
- Damage caused by vehicles, equipment, excessive loads, impact, abrasion, misuse, or neglect
- Damage caused by snowplows, metal shovels, studded tires, chains, or other mechanical contact
- Damage caused by de-icing salts, fertilizers, chemicals, oils, solvents, or improper cleaning products
- Freeze-thaw damage caused or worsened by improper maintenance or chemical exposure
- Flooding, fire, severe weather, natural disasters, vandalism, or events outside AB Concrete Finishing's control
- Work altered, repaired, drilled, cut, coated, sealed, or modified by another person or contractor
- Utility, landscaping, excavation, construction, or renovation work completed after the concrete installation
- Failure to follow curing, loading, sealing, cleaning, maintenance, or care instructions
- Defects in customer-supplied materials or products
- Work or conditions specifically excluded in the estimate, contract, change order, or project documentation
- Cosmetic preferences that do not constitute a workmanship defect
5. Customer Responsibilities
To remain eligible for warranty service, the customer must:
- Pay all amounts owing under the applicable contract or invoice
- Use and maintain the concrete reasonably
- Follow all curing, loading, sealing, cleaning, and maintenance instructions provided by AB Concrete Finishing
- Take reasonable steps to prevent further damage after discovering a potential issue
- Notify AB Concrete Finishing promptly
- Allow reasonable access to inspect and, where appropriate, repair the affected area
Failure to meet these responsibilities may affect warranty coverage where that failure caused or contributed to the issue.
6. How to Submit a Warranty Claim
Warranty claims must be submitted during the six-month warranty period.
Please provide:
- Full name
- Project address
- Phone number
- Email address
- Date or approximate date of project completion
- Description of the concern
- Date the concern was first noticed
- Clear photographs or videos of the affected area
AB Concrete Finishing may request further information or schedule an on-site inspection before determining whether the issue is covered.
Submitting a claim does not automatically establish warranty coverage.
7. Inspection and Scheduling
AB Concrete Finishing will review a properly submitted claim within a reasonable period.
Inspection and repair timing may depend on:
- Weather and temperature
- Site access
- Material availability
- Seasonal concrete conditions
- The nature of the issue
- Existing project schedules
Customers should not arrange third-party repairs before AB Concrete Finishing has had a reasonable opportunity to inspect the issue. Unauthorized repairs may affect coverage if they prevent inspection or contribute to further damage.
8. Materials and Third-Party Products
Any separate manufacturer or supplier warranty applicable to concrete, sealers, colour products, reinforcement, or other materials will be governed by that manufacturer's or supplier's terms.
Where appropriate, AB Concrete Finishing may provide reasonable assistance with a valid supplier or manufacturer claim, but cannot extend or modify a third party's warranty.
9. Limits of This Warranty
To the extent permitted by law, this warranty is limited to correcting covered workmanship in the affected area.
AB Concrete Finishing is not responsible under this warranty for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including loss of use, lost income, accommodation costs, or damage unrelated to the covered workmanship defect.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable Saskatchewan or Canadian law.
10. Relationship to the Project Agreement
This warranty should be read together with the customer's approved estimate, contract, scope of work, change orders, invoices, care instructions, and other project documents.
If project-specific warranty terms were agreed to in writing, those terms will apply to that project to the extent legally permitted.
